Government College Of Dentistry Indore Overview
In 1961, the very first Government Dental Institute of Madhya Pradesh, the College of Dentistry, Indore, was established. The founding principal of this college in Indore, Dr. S.L. Mangi, the late Dr. G.L. Sharma, the MP’s Director of Health Service at that time, and the late Shri Mishrilalji Gangwal, the honorable former minister of MP, are collectively known as “The Trio.” With 19 student admissions to the BDS course, it started as a wing of the M.G.M. Medical College in Indore. The institution became an independent organization in 1966. It is popularly regarded as one of the Best Government Dental Colleges in India.
The college has nine departments that work with 63 undergraduate students and 29 postgraduate students who are admitted each year to provide clinical training and learning opportunities. The institution is located in the center of the city. It is situated across from M.Y. Hospital, the largest state-run hospital. We provide dental care to those in need and are one of the state’s leading referral centers for dental and oral health care.

The BDS program lasts five years in total, consisting of one year of required mandatory internship and four years of academic learning and education. The BDS degree is only given out following the internship’s completion.
