Nair, two amazing visionaries, formed it with the primary goal of giving the neighboring semi-rural population access to standard-quality dental care. The Trustees run it under the auspices of the Padanilam Welfare Trust. It is one among the list of Dental Colleges in India recognized by DCI.

The postgraduate degrees started in 2002, with 16 students admitted annually for postgraduate degrees. The newest, most advanced supplies and tools are available in every department. They are led by highly skilled professors, with the assistance of assistant professors, readers, and lecturers.

The management is taking many steps to modernize the facilities to meet the increasing needs of teaching, research, and technology. These efforts are also intended to provide patients with the best care possible to preserve the school’s standing as a top academic institution.

SMIDS has assembled an impressive staff that is committed to giving dentistry students the complete clinical and fundamental science education necessary to position them for important positions in the healthcare industry. Students have demonstrated the capacity to become highly trained, technically efficient, and quality dental care practitioners—compassionate, ethical, caring, and sensitive to the needs of the patients.
